The Loser-Altaussee or Tauplitz skiing areas are respectively just 10 km and 25 km from MONDI-HOLIDAY HOTEL Grundlsee. With 40 km of well prepared slopes, both resorts are ideal for beginners and more experienced skiers. Lake Grundlsee, when frozen, offers the unique experience of ice skating, Austrian curling, ice sailing or simply taking a stroll on one of the biggest open-air natural ice rinks you can find.
6 chair lifts, 23 tow lifts and 2 mountain roads are at skiers disposal. Both ski resorts are close at hand and are not overrun with visitors - that means no bothersome queues at the lifts. Skiing instruction from qualified skiers of the "Österreichische Skischule" is available - everything from snowboard training to ski kindergarten. A cross country track on the lake is a taster for cross country ski enthusiasts and the region around Bad Mitterndorf - Pichl/Kainisch, just 10 minutes' drive from Grundlsee is an eldorado for cross country skiers.
For those who really want to take it easy or to brush up their skills before hitting the slopes, the practice run "Zlaim" is accessible on foot and ideal for children and adults alike.
