Suggested day trips from MONDI-HOLIDAY HOTEL Grundlsee
Salzburg
The city famous for Mozart and the summer music festival is just 100 km from Mondi-Holiday-Hotel Grundlsee. Salzburg is truly a Baroque jewel. The historic centre and Hellbrunn castle were declared part of the world cultural heritage in 1977. Whatever the reason for visiting Salzburg, be it shopping, a Mozart-Trip, a visit to the Salzburg Festival of Music or to the castles or any of the various other attractions, the city is fascinating and charming.
Wolfgangsee / Fuschlsee
Sung about - and often filmed: the Salzburg and Salzkammergut lakes. Two of the most famous of which are the quiet Fuschlsee and the vibrant Wolfgangsee. Through films such as the "Weiße Rößl am Wolfgangsee" these lakes are famous the world over.
Benedictine Abbey in Admont
The abbey library was completed in 1776 and is the world's biggest monastic library. The room is 70 m long and has splendid ceiling frescoes and carvings. Since its opening in 2003, the new museum has proved to be a further attraction. Scripts and early printings, art from the Middle Ages, modern art, the natural history collection of P. Gabriel Strobl, contemporary MADE FOR ADMONT art (partly designed for the blind), a multimediale presentation of the abbey, special exhibitions, a panorama stairway and much more besides; all this contributes to making this a worthwhile trip.
